What If Your Problem Wasn't a Problem?

What problem do you have regarding your body or habits these days?

  • Is it the near-constant critical thoughts about your appearance?

  • Is it the late-night eating that you can't seem to stop even though you are full?

  • Or maybe it's the fear of eating certain foods that makes eating decisions so stressful?

Having any of these problems no doubt contributes to a more stressful and unenjoyable life.

But since our nature is well-being, when we are off-course from that state, we yearn to get back to it.

In order to get ourselves back to that state of well-being the mind jumps in and starts looking for the problem that needs "fixing". It wants to identify the source of your discomfort and fix it so you'll feel better.

Which then becomes a problem itself: the problem of fixing the problem!

Notice for a moment how it feels to believe you have a problem that needs "fixing"? Do you notice a sense of urgency or stress? Can you feel your mind speed up?

Overall I'm guessing it doesn't feel so good when you believe you have a problem that needs fixing.

But what if you didn't see your problem as a problem?

I understand depending on the problem you have in mind that might seem like a foreign, crazy, or even irresponsible idea to consider! But if you can put aside those objections for a moment and ask yourself "what if this problem wasn't a problem?" how do you feel?

Do you feel lighter? More at ease?

The mind will tell you that you must consider your problem a problem or else nothing will change. But can you really know that to be true?

Since our nature is well-being and we have an innate intelligence that is always directing us back to well-being (think how your body naturally works to recover from a flu for example), we naturally will be inclined towards doing things or making decisions that move us back to that state of well-being.

All without it needing to be a problem.

Remove the label of "problem" and you'll remove a layer of stress, and experience your body and life’s challenges with a lot more ease.

If you’d like feel more peace and ease with your body instead of seeing it as a “problem”, check out my 1:1 coaching. Highly supportive and personalized so you can experience freedom from your specific challenges.
