The Holiday Season is Here. You DON’T Need to Worry About Food!

You know what’s really normal in our culture? Worrying about food!

We love it, and we hate it. You may hate that you love it.

Why do people worry so much about food? Well, here are some common reasons:

  1. Fear of weight gain.

  2. Fear of eating the “wrong” thing.

  3. Fear of judgement from others.

  4. Fear of bingeing.

  5. Fear of poor health.

Do you notice one thing in common amongst all of these?

Yes, FEAR!

I get it. We want to be healthy, we want to feel good. But we have this idea shoved down our throats that food is the be-all and end-all to health.

It’s NOT!

What I truly believe matters more than what you put in your mouth, is how you’re feeling when you’re doing it.

If you feel guilty and stressed every time you eat a cookie. That’s not good for your health.

It’s estimated that *75-90% of doctor visits are due to stress-related ailments and complaints. And worrying about something you do multiple times a day, every day (eating), adds chronic stress to your day.

Which negatively impacts health.

So worrying about food, while it appears to be a good thing, actually isn’t.

Worrying is not the same as caring!

Rather, if you ask yourself “if I wasn’t worried, or (insert stressful emotion here), what would feel good to eat? That would give you a much better directive on eating in a way that feels good for you.

And guess what? When you’re paying attention to how you feel, you’ll notice that you will eat in a more balanced way that makes your body feel good.

So let go of the worry while eating, it’s truly not necessary! And enjoy the newfound peace that as made space for itself in your life.

If you find it hard to let go of worry around eating, book a free coaching consultation and we can see if coaching would be a good fit to support you.
